Mark de Hek
Mark de Hek has been a senior consultant at Hooghiemstra and Partners since 1 January 2020. In addition to being a lawyer, Mark is a mining engineer and feels very much at home with complex issues at the interface of law and technology. From 2010 he worked for various supervisors as a senior lawyer, where he gained extensive experience in managing complex (international) supervision and enforcement projects and advising management and management on legal, strategic and policy matters.
Between 2017 and 2020, Mark worked as a senior lawyer at the Dutch Data Protection Authority, where he was involved in coordinating complex supervisory and enforcement processes and, among other things, advising on the legal substantive course of the regulator. In addition to his experience at the Dutch Data Protection Authority, he has worked as a supervisor at NMa and ACM. Mark has also worked as a lawyer in the Administrative Jurisdiction Division of the Council of State and the then Common Court for the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. From 1995 to 2006, Mark worked in various advisory positions within the environmental sector in the field of auditing (due diligence and corporate compliance).
Mark knows how to quickly reduce complex issues to the core and combines his technical and legal background to arrive at workable advice.
